Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti moet je gewoon horen

Momenteel het hipste van het hipste: Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti. De heerlijke freakpop van eerste single ‘Round And Round’ mag nu al geschaard worden bij het verrassendste van 2010.

Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti is het levenswerk van de uit Los Angeles afkomstige Ariel Marcus Rosenberg a.k.a . Ariel Pink. Na jarenlang ploeteren in de marge tekende de multi-instrumentalist eind vorig jaar bij platenmaatschappij 4AD, thuis van hippe bands als The National, Bon Iver, The Big Pink en TV On The Radio.

De dit jaar verschenen plaat Before Today is een experimentele trip zonder echt helemaal het spoor kwijt te raken. De sounds is een mengeling van psychedelische pop, freak folk, (lofi) rock en new wave. Inderdaad, je moet het gewoon horen.
